This gold shirt was commissioned by 32-year-old Indian moneylender, Datta Phuge. The shirt is made entirely out of gold, costs $22,400, and took a team of goldsmiths 2 weeks to make. It also includes matching cuffs, a belt, and a set of rings… but no gold teeth or earrings because that would just be tacky.
Phuge has no problem admitting that the only reason he commissioned the shirt was to impress ladies. He hopes to build a reputation as “the Gold Man of Pimpri” and says “I know I am not the best looking man in the world but surely no woman could fail to be dazzled by this shirt?” Dazzled, blinded—same difference right?
